Happy Halloween, all. This is yesterday's comic, I haven't drawn today's yet. For most of the day I've been incapable of anything other than sitting motionless and feeling a mixture of shame and the urge to vomit. I apologize for my behavior last night, the little of it that I remember.

Later tonight I'll post a new comic and a special Halloween treat.

Today's comic worked, yesterday's still doesn't. How does that make sense?

Monday, October 25, 2010

for some reason the last few nights I've been having trouble uploading the comics.
I posted tonight's on flickr, so it's going to have to do for now. Hopefully I can get this figured out soon.

at the art show last night

Sometimes you absolutely burn yourself out, but when people say they admire your work it makes it all worth it. It's a cycle of stress and reward.

Thanks to everyone who was involved with the Draperies art show last night. It came together so well. Hopefully I'll have some pictures soon.

Hey, blogger isn't letting me post images tonight, and yesterday I was having a problem too, so if this persists, we might have a problem. Anyway, the comic for today (the 30th day, by the way) won't be posted until tomorrow.

anyway, enjoy this video from the Magnetic Fields, who seem to have a direct line to my depression

Saturday, October 23, 2010

here's my daily routine since starting this comic:
wake up, enjoy normal day while all the while knowing i'll ultimately end up going completely manic over the daily strip, get home around ten, go completely manic over the daily strip.

it's come to my attention that this one might not make much sense. If anything it should serve as an example of how things sometimes seem totally understandable in my head, but not on paper.

I had a marathon work day today. This was lovingly drawn for you during the several hours I spent on my couch listening to a pandora station based on louis armstong. My hands hurt.

Oh, and I did manage to start printing the first copies of the first 12 days of Our Ever Improving Living Room. I'm going to be handing them out at the gallery show I'm in this weekend. The hopefully sell any extras at Chicago Comics. Then hopefully print more volumes. Then nothing probably.

Also ...

Here we go for today's comic, which happens to feature an actual living room (thats a pretty arbitrary title, huh?)

Sunday, October 17, 2010

yesterday's comic is done. maybe today's will be done on the day it's supposed to be.
Thanks to everyone who's reading
I just can't keep up. Saturday's comic tomorrow. Sunday's tomorrow too (hopefully)

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Here's yesterdays. Sorry I yelled, you know I would never hurt you.
Today's comic will be posted tomorrow. Here are the reasons why.
1. Its late.
2. I'm quite drunk.
2b. fuck off.
3. I'd rather go cry.

I sure hope it's clear what happened there.

Big news - starting soon (in the next week or two) Our Ever Improving Living-Room (which is now the name of the strip, and not just the blog) is going to be serialized in the Suffolk Journal, the student newspaper of Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. The Journal is a weekly paper, and I haven't decided how I'm going to pick which strip to send each week, or where I'm going to start, but I'm really excited.
So, Bostonians, if you've always wanted to start a scrapbook of my work, get excited.

Sunday, October 10, 2010

This up coming week is going to be really busy - so I might miss a day at some point, im going to try not to. But if it's any consolation, i'll be working on a one page story that i'll post after i finish. That's got to count for something.

Also, I have news about Linework. There are now 15 copies available in shopColumbia for ten dollars each. They're the only 15 public copies in existence, so get yours quick.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

I lied, here you go.
Its going to be a busy day, so todays comic might not come until tomorrow. But rest assured, it will find its way.

in the mean time I have news about various goings on.
The second issue of Linework has entered the planning stages - if you're a Columbia student or alumni who does comics, get excited.
Also, I got invited to participate in a gallery show, October 23rd. I'm going to be showing some paintings, including one new one that I'm incredibly excited about - sometimes I just stare at it to make myself feel better.
Also, I'm going to be handing out the first twelve days of my journal comic in a nice little printed booklet, which I still need to print.

I'll have more information when it gets closer, and I'll be sure to have the important details for those of you who want to come.
